The information highway of the internet has given the backpacker/hiker another trail to follow. This electonic trail connects all level skills of backpacking through websites and forums. The beginner backpacker, before the first step is taken from the trailhead, can litterly within a few clicks of the mouse, educate themselves on the do’s and dont’s of backpacking. The novice can also go on forums and ask questions that experience hikers will be happy to answer. The experienced backpacker and the long distance hiker will discover new trails to earth touch and communicate with other hikers what gear works for their particular style of hiking. Each new step is an awakening into mother nature. The hiker will soon learn that no matter what trail he or she walks they will find a direct relationship between man and nature. Nature has always survived. Man, on the otherhand, is losing touch with mother earth, and by doing so is losing the battle to keep his environmental survival bubble intact.
As I talk with other hikers/backpackers and read to broaden my horizons on hiking, nature and the environment, I will pass along the information I find onto this resource page. Please understand that some of this information is not for everyone. Take into consideration your skill level and experience on the trail before trying new trails and gear. Gather the information you need as a beginner, or as a well troddened hiker and use it as a refresher, learn new trails, trail safety, gear and to help plan your next adventure. As a side note. Several folks have approached KrispyKritter and asked how was this website was created. It was born because of the love for mother earth. Therefore, Kritter (as some of his friends call him) will give tips and links on how krispkritter’s website was born.
